Ayqa Khan is a Pakistani-American multimedia artist, and [graduated from] The Cooper Union. She is the founder of the online archive SouthAsia.Art, a collective that aims to self-educate and promote research on South Asian artists. The collective had their inaugural show in October of 2017 centered around the theme of South Asian Futurity in which they exhibited 29 artists from all over the world including Malvides, Sweden, and Canada. Khan is formerly known for her work around body hair in which she explores this notion of hair existing outside of parallels and creating homes outside of bodies.

“I am interested in the role of symbols and how they can present themselves as a catalyst for life and change. Symbols within familial archives and symbols within cultural aesthetics that exist within areas such as textiles and film.”
